Just a stretch

Jessica Vining is a ballet dancer whom recently graduated from highschool in Troutdale. I was shooting her routine for a portrait special section on notable teenagers in the area. After she finished I asked her what the name of the move she was performing here was, and she replied that "It's just a stretch to cool down."

More Austin Fun

The nicest thing about being out there was getting to meet all these people who I know through their postings on A Photo A Day, but have never gotten to meet. This is Sol, my team leader out there, who was coincidentally from Oregon as well.

Austin Pride Parade

While Geekfest was happening, Austin had its annual Gay Pride Parade. This is "Boy Ben," the treasurer of the Texas Boys of Leather strutting his stuff.

Also, check out Slapfactory, whom took a picture of a few of the Geekfest crew while we were waiting for our next speaker outside the Hole in the Wall Tavern. I'm at the top, second from right (with slurpy).

Back from Austin . . .and Geekfest

I spent five days in Austin, TX a week ago for the A Photo A Day get-together called Geekfest. We spent a four-day weekend doing a lot of shooting and hanging out, along with seeing some amazing speakers and their work.

This was a shot from the spillway behind one of the City's public pools where a lot of parents take their kids and pets to go run around when it gets hot outside, which is often.
